Decoupage with a painterly effect

Shading and painting using the napkin technique

Blooming Hydrangea Jug

Discover the secret to a project that delights with its painterly character. Make sure no one believes your handicraft was created using an ordinary napkin. Create a romantic metal jug that will serve perfectly as a stylish vase, and learn techniques that will completely transform your workshop.

This is the next step in exploring the possibilities of the napkin technique. A step that allows you to create even more refined, elegant, and professional-looking decorations. Discover the artist in you, even if you’ve never considered yourself artistically gifted.

Imagine…

On a table, dresser, or windowsill stands a beautiful metal jug decorated with blooming hydrangeas. Its entire surface creates a cohesive composition, in which the floral motif blends seamlessly with the deep, dark background. Delicate color transitions make the design look harmonious from every angle. And the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that you created this effect yourself. The work looks as if it was painted by a master, even though you know it was done by hand.

This is not just ordinary paper gluing. This is a moment just for you – full of peace, creativity, and a pleasant break from the daily routine. When your loved ones gaze at the exquisite details and ask in disbelief, “Where did you buy this wonder?”, you will proudly reply, “I made it myself.”

This unique item is within your reach, because you will create it with me during this online course.

What will you create in the course?

Main Project – Blooming Hydrangea Jug

This jug delights with its romantic character and painterly finish. As you learn to create this project, you’ll learn how to prepare a metal surface for decoration and work on a colorful background. I’ll show you how to create shading and underpainting that will make the hydrangeas look hand-painted, and finally, how to protect your work so it will delight your eye for years to come. This is the perfect lesson for those who want to enhance their projects with more artistic effects.
“You don’t have to know how to paint. I’ll show you the entire process step by step, and the end result will delight not only you.”

Inspirations hidden within the course:

Although we’ll create a hydrangea jug together, this is only the beginning. In the course, I’ll also discuss making versions with roses and peonies, showing how to use the same techniques with other floral motifs. You’ll also receive material lists for both projects, so you can easily create more unique jugs tailored to your own style and favorite flowers.
“Because sometimes one inspiration is enough for dozens of other ideas to blossom.”

I’ll give you a ready-made list with links to stores so you don’t have to wander around and buy anything unnecessary.

What will you learn in this course?

Crafting is magic, but it’s based on solid foundations. In this course, we eliminate the guesswork and the fear of failure. Here are the specific skills and techniques you’ll master:

✿ Preparing a slippery surface (metal, galvanized)
You will learn how to properly clean, degrease, and prime a difficult metal base so that the paint adheres perfectly, does not chip, and is fully durable.
✿ Working with motifs on a dark and colored background
You will learn the rules for working with napkins with floral motifs on a dark background. I’ll show you how to prepare a light base for decoration and how to build the background color around the motif so that the whole thing looks cohesive and natural.
✿ Painting the background and layering
You’ll learn how to apply underpainting and paint the background using carefully selected brushes. You’ll learn the principles of layering with acrylic paints, which will help you achieve soft color transitions and a harmonious blend of the motif and the background.
✿ Building depth with light and shadow
You’ll learn how to add light reflections and shadows to give your flowers lightness, depth, and a more painterly character. I’ll also show you how to consciously choose colors to ensure the entire composition is cohesive and pleasing to the eye.
✿ Protecting the finished work
You’ll learn the correct process of finishing and painting a project, thanks to which the surface will be aesthetically pleasing, durable, and resistant to everyday stains.
✿ Conscious selection of materials
You’ll learn which paints, brushes, and other materials work best for decorating metal surfaces. This will help you avoid accidental purchases and will allow you to consciously build your workshop.

WHY IS THIS COURSE MORE THAN A TUTORIAL?

Many people face frustration at the beginning of their journey – wrinkles on the napkin, visible paper cuts, paint peeling from the metal. The truth is, it’s not a lack of talent, but a lack of organized knowledge.

You’ve probably seen many beautiful decorations and wondered how the creators achieve that painterly effect. Or maybe you’ve already tried the napkin technique, but you still feel like the motif looks like a glued-on picture. You look at the finished pieces and think, “Why do their pieces look hand-painted?”.

From my many years of experience, it’s at this stage that many people begin to discover the true possibilities of the napkin technique. They stop wandering and begin to create consciously. They understand how to choose colors, how to build depth, and how to make a decoration look harmonious.

Don't worry. It'll work out. And it'll be beautiful.

I guide you so that you:
• understand what you’re doing and why
• don’t guess how to achieve painterly effects
• don’t waste materials
• aren’t afraid of working on metal surfaces
• can use the techniques you’ve learned in other projects
• create increasingly refined decorations
• and create with pleasure from the very beginning

You’re not just buying a video course. You buy the moment when someone looks at your jug and asks in disbelief, “Did you really make that yourself?” And the satisfaction when you look at your own work and see a decoration that looks hand-painted.
